At Free Call Planet, we believe in keeping our pricing very low and simple. There are no surchages, we only round to one minute, and there are never any connection or maintenance fees.
We sell monthly plans for a block of minutes. As long as you don't go over those minutes, or call a country outside your plan, then that is the only charge you will get.
This means when we advertise a rate on our site, like India for 5.4 cents per minute. That is the true rate, and every dollar you spend will go towards those minutes. Look at the India 500 plan....500 minutes for $24.95 which works out to 5.4 cents per minute. Very simple right? It's just too bad not every international service was as easy to understand. |

If it sounds too good to be true...Then it probably is. Every once in awhile, we lose a customer because they have seen India advertised for as low as 3.9 cents per minute. More often than not, that customer comes right back to us. What happened to that great deal? Well there are several tricks and gimmicks you should keep an eye on: Three Minute Rounding: International calls are billed in minutes, not seconds. Say you made a call for one minute and forty seconds. How would that call get billed? FreeCallPlanet.com would bill you 2 minutes, and the call would cost 10.8 cents (5.4 cents x 2). Some calling cards would bill you for 4 minutes, and the call would cost 15.6 cents (3.9 cents x 4). Suddenly that 3.9 cent rate does not look so good. Connection Fees: They charge you just to complete a call? Yes, $0.20 or more per call. What happens if you connect and then the call drops? Or the person on the other end tells you to call back in 10 minutes. Well that's another $0.20 to call again. Disconnect Fees: Some places advertise No Connection Fees and then turn around and charge you a Disconnect Fee every time you end a call. A per call fee is still a per call fee no matter what you call it. Maintenance Fees: They charge you just to keep your minutes active? Yes. $1.99 or more per week. What's up with that? Its not like your minutes are taking up space in their office.
